Elite Series CNC Routers: Which Model Should You Choose?

Choosing the right CNC router is about more than working area alone. The materials you plan to machine, the size of your workpieces, production requirements and the type of work you want to take on all affect which machine makes the most sense.

The Elite Series CNC Routers are CNC Online's higher-specification CNC machines, designed for workshops, manufacturers and production environments that need larger linear rails, a more powerful standard spindle and heavier-duty motion components.

What Does the Elite Series Offer?

The 1515 and 2515 use 3Nm NEMA 23 closed-loop motors with integrated drivers on all axes, while the larger 3020 and 3025 step up to 8.5Nm NEMA 34 closed-loop motors on the X and Y axes.

The larger HGR25 rails, 3kW spindle and higher-specification motion components make the Elite Series suited to more demanding CNC work and regular production use.

The Elite Series 1515 is the smallest machine in the Elite range.

It has a bed size of approximately 1500 × 1440mm, with:

  • X-axis travel: 1215mm
  • Y-axis travel: 1255mm
  • Z-axis travel: 215mm

The 1515 uses 3Nm NEMA 23 closed-loop motors with integrated drivers on all axes, combined with HGR25 linear rails and SFE2020 ball screws on the X and Y axes with an SFU1605 ball screw on the Z axis.

Its working area makes it a good choice where you want the Elite Series components but do not regularly need to machine large-format sheets.

The Elite 1515 is well suited to:

Elite Series 2515 – More Capacity for Longer Work

The Elite Series 2515 increases the Y-axis length substantially while retaining a 1440mm X-axis bed width.

It has a bed size of approximately 1440mm X × 2500mm Y, with:

  • X-axis travel: 1255mm
  • Y-axis travel: 2215mm
  • Z-axis travel: 215mm

Like the 1515, it uses 3Nm NEMA 23 closed-loop motors with integrated drivers on all axes, HGR25 linear rails, SFE2020 ball screws on the X and Y axes and an SFU1605 ball screw on the Z axis.

The main reason to choose the 2515 over the 1515 is the additional Y-axis length.

The Elite 2515 is well suited to:

  • Long cabinet parts
  • Decorative panels
  • Timber products
  • Profiles and longer components
  • Production routing
  • Custom fabrication work

Best for: Businesses that regularly work with longer components but do not need the additional width of the 3020 or 3025.

Elite Series 3020 – Large-Format Production

The Elite Series 3020 is where the Elite range moves into a considerably larger working area and more powerful motion system.

It has a bed size of approximately 1934mm X × 3000mm Y, with:

  • X-axis travel: 1750mm
  • Y-axis travel: 2680mm
  • Z-axis travel: 215mm

The 3020 uses 8.5Nm NEMA 34 closed-loop motors on the X and Y axes, while the Z axis uses a 3Nm NEMA 23 closed-loop motor with an integrated driver.

The drive system uses rack and pinion on the Y axis, an SFE2020 ball screw on the X axis and an SFU1605 ball screw on the Z axis.

This combination is designed around the larger machine size and working area.

Elite Series 3025 – Full-Sheet Processing and Maximum Working Area

The Elite Series 3025 is the largest machine in the Elite Series.

It has a bed size of approximately 2340mm X × 3000mm Y, with:

  • X-axis travel: 2255mm
  • Y-axis travel: 2755mm
  • Z-axis travel: 215mm

Like the 3020, the machine uses 8.5Nm NEMA 34 closed-loop motors on the X and Y axes, with a 3Nm NEMA 23 closed-loop motor with an integrated driver on the Z axis.

It uses rack and pinion drive on the Y axis, an SFE2020 ball screw on the X axis and an SFU1605 ball screw on the Z axis.

The additional X-axis width gives the 3025 the largest working area in the range.

One of the main advantages of the Elite 3025 is its ability to process commonly used full-size sheet materials in a single setup. Its 2255mm X × 2755mm Y working travel can accommodate standard boards such as 2440 × 1220mm and larger 2750 × 1830mm MDF, plywood and similar sheets.

This means businesses can place a full board onto the machine and produce cabinet components, furniture parts, signage or production panels without first cutting the material into smaller sections. This can reduce material handling, simplify job setup and improve production efficiency.

Which Elite Series CNC Router Should You Choose?

Start by looking at the largest workpiece you regularly expect to machine, rather than simply choosing the largest machine available.

Choose the Elite Series 1515 if you want the Elite specification but most of your work fits within a smaller working area.

Choose the Elite Series 2515 if your workpieces are regularly longer and you need the additional Y-axis capacity.

Choose the Elite Series 3020 if you need a large-format router for cabinetry, furniture, sheet processing or production work.

Choose the Elite Series 3025 if you need to process full-size sheet materials, maximise the number of parts produced from each board or reduce the need to pre-cut large sheets before machining.
